Why Material Adaptation Matters in ELT: A Saudi Classroom Experience with Imported Safety Training

I was asked to teach safety material as part of the STEM component in the final English level of a Saudi vocational training program.

4.8/5 – Excellent

Futuristic Educator

Today’s truly competent teachers are the ones who deeply understand the divide between long-established basics and the fast-approaching, game-changing future. If one ignores the 21st century, where problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity go hand in hand with communication, they are surely lost in the past. I view the classroom as a place of excitement where the past combines with the future. My restless drive for self-improvement ensures that my students—and my institutions—benefit from what I have to offer, from TEFL to the cutting edge of educational technology.

Curriculum Design

Education should be aligned with the skills needed in this century. I specialise in designing curricula for Technical Report Writing and Vocational English that meet international accreditation standards. With over 20 years of classroom experience, my time with TUV Rheinland training, a near-native IELTS Band 8 proficiency, and holding dual Master’s degrees in English Linguistics and Literature, I am rightly positioned to design a curriculum that fits Competency-Based Training (CBT). I fully understand that there is a need to apply modern approaches like the ADDIE model to our instructional design.

Tech Savvy

Language is a tool for empowerment, but in a digital world, it must be paired with technical literacy. The most successful educators will be the ones who balance established foundations with emerging technologies. I don’t just teach English; I use the digital infrastructure that makes learning efficient. I have used my technological ability to solve educational problems. From interactive quizzes to automating complex academic data for 1,000+ students in Excel, or leading a faculty workshop on Blackboard integration, I have strived to create high-impact learning environments.
